OE-A Competition for Multifunctional Demonstrators 2013

01.11.2012 | id:19321

Following the huge success at LOPE-C 2012, we will once again launch the OE-A competition for multifunctional demonstrators. Please note: The deadline to hand in the application form was October 29, 2012.Like in 2012, there will be four different categories:

The winners of the competition in the four categories were awarded on LOPE-C 2013 in Munich. For details see here.

University Demonstrator
OE-A member universities may participate in this category. You are welcome to use devices from the OE-A Toolbox, but it is not a prerequisite. The OE-A demonstrator team developed the OE-A Toolbox which presently contains 25 different organic and printed electronics components along with a datasheet for each component. The information folder with datasheets for each component along with more information about the OE-A Toolbox is available in the download database.

Since the OE-A Toolbox will be updated frequently, the Toolbox represents the state-of-the-art of organic and printed electronic components.

We provide the opportunity to use organic and printed electronic components to develop and build new applications and integrated smart systems  by offering the OE-A Toolbox.

For more information about the OE-A Toolbox, please see the information folder, available in the download database.

The submitted demonstrator must be functional. This must be proven either in a live demonstration during the evaluation by the reviewers or, if that is not possible, in a movie presented to the reviewers.

Freestyle Demonstrator
The category `Freestyle Demonstrator´ is open to all OE-A members. The demonstrator must be based on printed/organic electronic devices and must be constructed by at least one OE-A member and/or additional partners (either members or not).

You are welcome to use devices from of the OE-A Toolbox, but it is not a prerequisite.

The submitted demonstrator must be functional. This must be proven either in a live demonstration during the evaluation by the reviewers or, if that is not possible, in a movie presented to the reviewers.

Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator
To assist with the dissemination process of publicly funded project demonstrators, the OE-A exhibits these demonstrators at worldwide trade fairs. At least one OE-A member must be a project partner or the coordinator of the publicly funded project.

The submitted demonstrator must be functional. This must be proven either in a live demonstration during the evaluation by the reviewers or, if that is not possible, in a movie presented to the reviewers.

Design Competition
If you are a designer or a student at a university for design, you are welcome to participate in the OE-A design competition to develop new applications or to improve existing concepts with the unique features of organic and printed electronics: thin, lightweight, flexible, and robust. Proposals should be submitted as a poster, film or model. It is not required to submit a functional demonstrator.

Goals of the OE-A Competition
The competition is an initiative of the OE-A demonstrator group to support young engineers and scientists as well as companies and designers to develop a vision of future applications in organic and printed electronics. By providing organic and printed electronics devices (summarized in the `OE-A Toolbox for Organic and Printed Electronics´), the OE-A offers student groups as well as companies and designers the opportunity to develop their vision.

The demonstrators and design concepts will be exhibited at LOPE-C, the best demonstrator and concept will be awarded at the 2013 LOPE-C Gala Dinner (June 11-13, 2013).

Participation
Participation is open to OE-A members or non-OE-A members if they cooperate with an OE-A member as well as designers and universities for design. Please contact sven.breitung@oe-a.org if you want to participate in the competition.
