On June 15, the OE-A - in cooperation with the European Commission and Photonics PPP - will organize a TOLAE Working Progamme 2018-2020 Open Consultation Meeting in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
Thin, Organic, and Large Area Electronics (TOLAE) is seen as an important technology by the Horizon 2020, Industrial Leadership (LEIT) Priority funding program. TOLAE is an emerging technology with high growth potential, well suited for applications that need large area and/or flexibility and stretchability – for example in the Automotive, Healthcare, Smart Packaging, and Smart Buildings Industry. The goal of the funding program is to advance the market readiness of TOLAE technologies and to further promote hybrid integration for its use in applications.
OE-A and its members (present in the EU) were invited to actively support the preparation of the Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018-20 by preparing a TOLAE position paper. After an online survey amongst European OE-A members on their funding priorities in February 2016, a workshop with interested members has been held co-located with LOPEC 2016 to further prioritize. A core group is currently drafting an OE-A TOLAE position paper.
The European Commission is currently preparing the ICT Work Programme for 2018, 2019 and 2020 under the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon 2020. This workshop is organized in collaboration with the Photonics PPP and the OE-A. The workshop will serve as a consultation of its stakeholders with the aim of collecting input and advice to help DG Connect defining the ICT Work Programme text for 2018, 2019 and 2020 for the TOLAE area. The workshop is open to any interested person and takes place on June 15, in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Registration is mandatory and closes on 31 May 2016.
